Dooney & Bourke started out in 1975 in South Norwalk, Conneticut by founders Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke producing belts & suspenders. In 1981 the company decided to begin producing handbags, which led them on a more than 25 year journey to now compete against renowned international brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace, Gucci and others.
